PROF. RAJESH
(Head of the Department)

Professor Rajesh is a senior professor of Life Long Learning and Head, Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, University of Delhi. He has graduated from Department of History, and completed his doctoral thesis from University of Delhi. He has been teaching and mentoring Post-graduate, MPhil and PhD students since last three decades. He has been a globally known researcher and expert in the field of life-long learning, and credited with publishing many books and articles of high academic rigor. Few of his most cited works are published in the high profile journal such as Shelter, Indian Journal of Adult Education, Indian Journal of Youth Affairs, Journal of Higher Education, Global Education Society and Development, and Social Defence. He has worked as an expert to National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and contributed to a policy document by submitting a research paper on “Education and Employability of Trans-genders”. He is also part of the Advisory Board, National Literacy Centre, NCERT. Prof Rajesh is bestowed with the honorary vice-president by Indian Adult Education Association. He has visited University of Wurzburg, Germany as part of the Exchange programme of Indo-German Project on Life-long Learning. Prof Rajesh was nominated by the University of Delhi to conduct a field visit, Department of Higher Education, School Education, Literacy and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Prof Rajesh has served as the chairperson and member of Governing body to many colleges of University of Delhi, and member Community Development Cell of the University of Delhi.
